We Try To Make A Difference!

Once again, deciding which of the many stories I should share with you is so difficult. I hope this one touches your heart, as I know it will be extremely heart-wrenching for me to write about it.
A girl (we will call her Andrea), and her mom came to Colorado hoping to find work after both were laid off from the same company. As a result of her coming to Denver, her boyfriend decided to terminate their relationship. Andrea was devestated and decided she would end her pregnancy. At four months pregnant, she tried to cause her baby to abort by using a coat hanger.
I received a frantic phone call from her mother, asking me to come right away, as she was concerned that her daughter might be having a miscarriage. Her mom didn't know that her daughter had self-inflicted the situation.
Since they had no insurance, no money and were about to be evicted from their apartment, I rushed to pick them up. Her mom and I got her to the hospital and together prayed for her to make it. Unfortunately, she and her baby passed away six hours later.
I helped her mom make arrangements for the funeral and expenses, which only she and I attended. How does a counselor prepare themselves to handle this kind of situation? Not only did the baby die, but the mother too.
I arranged for her mom to take a bus back to Texas, where she at least had friends and other family members. She has contacted me several times, and continues to thank us for being there to help her.
